When we think about climate change, we often imagine an abstract phenomenon with consequences far into the future, even decades away. In reality, climate change is already adversely impacting our environment and lives today, including directly within the City of Bloomington.
At a high-level, climate change is gradually warming our atmosphere through a process called global warming. The Earth’s ecosystems are used to existing at a certain temperature equilibrium, so any long-term disruption to this equilibrium is bound to have significant, negative downstream effects on our ecosystems and the industries, sectors, and human activities that rely upon their stability and healthy functioning.
